The storms just keep coming and coming. I wish I could update you on our current snowpack but I'm afraid that I cannot because the storms won't clear long enough for me to have a look around. I can assume that we have lots and lots of new snow and are looking VERY good for this years snowkite event. I've been out a few times and know that there is an awful lot of snow under my board. This blog is a long time coming. This area is amazing for snowkiting. Some might argue the best roadside snowkiting in the country and I wouldn't fight them on that point. Some things you might want to know before coming out to snowkite in Idaho. Access is always an issue with snowkiting. We want to keep this sport alive, safe and fun. This last strom looked like a massive system and hopes were high that it would deliver snow measured in feet, not inches. Looking around the state at each ski area, I noticed that most ski areas only received 4 inches and some a wooping 8 inches, hardly enough to write about. I drove through the Camas Valley yesterday and am pleased to announce that this strom hit the Camas and hit it hard. I'm not sure how much snow we recieved but we are measuring it as several feet, perhaps more. Everything is covered, the snow is light and kiting this year is officially epic. Read More »
